Nicole St Clair Knobloch
Nicole St. Clair Knobloch is the new Project Leader for the Build It with Wood program at the New England Forestry Foundation. She leads the effort to drive policies and develop markets for new engineered wood products to substitute for steel and concrete in mid- high-rise buildings in New York and New England - to create rural jobs and protect working New England forests by creating new markets for sustainably harvested wood; sequester carbon outside of forests by using wood in buildings; and create new appreciation for forests by developers and policymakers. She draws on her experiences designing climate policy, specifically cap and trade legislation, while associate director of the D.C. office of the Nicholas Institute for Environmental Policy Solutions of Duke University; advising the McCain 2008 presidential campaign’s climate policy group; directing communications for the climate campaigns at Environmental Defense Fund and the Natural Resources Defense Council, also in Washington, D.C.; and working with institutional investors, the financial press, Wall Street analysts, and Ford Motor Company while at Ceres, an organization focused on corporate responsibility for the environment, based in Boston.
